When PASS started in 1997 there was a long waiting list for services. Individuals in our part of the DD spectrum were told it might be up to 25 years before their name was "called." Thus PASS was started, the Day Program began operations on January 19, 1998.
At PASS we are known for playing hard, learning, and socializing.
We began as a private pay organization with families on the honor system for the expected $600 per month fee for a full time individual. Fundraising was to cover any income gap. Fortunately, we had essentially free space ($1 per month from Portland Adventist Medical Center) and free management / leadership (Warren and Evvalee Rushold). This was the beginning of our adventure . . .
PASS supports adults with developmental disabilities and their families by providing high quality and accessible social, recreational and learning services.
